There are some retail shops on the level above the casino but shopping is limited. Both are very upscale and Ruth's Chris will run about $50 pp. Both were fabulous but definitely make reservations. We only stayed one night and had dinner at Ruth's Chris and lunch the next day at Brio Tuscan. If you plan on drinking and not palying seriously, play the slots, not the tables! My husband felt that it was a matter of training and not intent on the part of the dealers and some were better than others. However, be forewarned, the dealers are still learning and are not completely adept! This is important.you must pay attention and, when you win, do not trust the dealers but, instead, calculate your own winnings! The dealers did miscalculate several times and had to be corrected. Once he did, he enjoyed himself and won some. night is extremely busy and getting a seat at a table is difficult.

The casino is huge and nicely done inside. But, we stayed in the Holiday Inn Express across the street and walked over to the casino and to dinner. That's an issue if you cannot plan too far ahead, and we cannot do that. The hotel has 1000 rooms but all were full on the night we went and seem to be full on most other Thurs-Sat nights for months in the future. No, this casino isn't Vegas-style but it is as close as you can get, esp in the mountains of NC! We hadn't been here since it opened and were happily surprise at how much it had grown and expanded.
